Logistics sales cooperation: Put your network to work!

There are quite a few aspects of an applicant that we look at when reviewing membership applications and one of the most important functions we look into is the applicant's sales cooperation track record. This might sound obvious to most logistics professionals but it actually goes a bit deeper than one might think. What do we mean by "sales cooperation" and what are we actually looking for? Let me explain in a few points.

Logistics networks: No references? Find another playground, amigo!

References One of the things that I find extremely hard to understand when doing our jobs occasionally happens during the application process. Quite often we find established companies who refuse to fill out reference information on the contact forms. When we follow up on this blank part of the form they tend to get a little indignant. Yes, we run into this quite often. Normally with this we get a smug response like: "We have been around for thirty years and everyone in the market knows…

The Follow Up: Ensuring that you bring home the bacon after logsitics network meetings

I'm constantly amazed as to how many people will go to a forwarders networking meeting where there are many new faces who they have met only to later complain that they have "gotten nothing out of it". In most cases my take on this is that one of two things is taking place:
1) This person hasn't allowed enough time to pass, as business does take some time; or (more importantly)
2)…

Hi Gary,

Sorry but I keep getting sidetracked and come back and you are off line. How are things? I hope that you are well and business is going well.. We have offices in SYD, MEL, BNE and ADL now so getting through this GFC and moving forward which is good..

I really like this concept. I had though something like this would work and had looked into building something myself, just not enough hours in the day really,. So am glad this has arrived.. What are your plans for this in the future??

Anyway, goo dto be on touch again and hopefully we can get something going here..

Mark J Willis
